Spec House

The Scout House started as a dream of Jesse's: a mid-Missouri spec home she designed from the floor plan up. She wanted something classic and timeless but built for modern living, a house people could walk into and not know when it was built. So much of it came from her grandmother's quarter horse farm and her parents' place around the corner, both rustic and lived-in and still full of moments of pure beauty. That mix-and-match of opposing forces carries all the way through: traditional millwork, reclaimed beams, and white oak set against clean modern lines, in materials chosen to patina rather than wear. Most spec homes are built to sell fast and look dated in five years. This one was built to prove the opposite. The result is a home that feels collected rather than decorated, and made for how families actually live.
