Home Reveal | Stone Bluff

For the last two years, we’ve been working on one of our most exciting projects yet! Meet Stone Bluff, a ground-up residential build for a family of 6. This contemporary home is all about making our client’s dreams come true and we can’t wait to tell you more!

At Bodine White our goal is to create spaces that our clients will love, not only because they are beautiful, but because they are functional and built with quality materials that will last for years to come. A Bodine White home is easy to live in, work in, play in, and is designed to grow with our families.

The Foyer

The foyer is a welcoming, open space that branches out to so many spaces of this home. The office is to the left, the dining room to the right, and the living room is straight ahead. The foyer is the perfect place to pause and be welcomed into the home, or to collect yourself on the way out.

The Living Room

The first step to any Bodine White design is to work with our clients to discover what is important to them and what their goals were for their dream home. Our clients favored contemporary and modern styles and valued comfort and color to accommodate their four children.

The living room was designed with entertaining in mind. The custom paneled built-ins are perfect for storing any media, games, or anything the family might need when guests come over. The customer upholstered sofa has performance fabric and the coffee table is large enough for anyone to reach. One of the central features of the living room is the over-grouted fireplace. It helps to break up the polished look of the built-ins and carries that patina our clients craved throughout the home.

The Mudroom

The mudroom was one of the first spaces where the colors were set. It helped guide the color we used throughout the home. The cabinets and walls are painted in Gettysburg Gray by Benjamin Moore and the storage bench was created with a contrasting rich wood stain. The stain helps to break up the space and keep it from looking too monotone.

The Kitchen

Stone Bluff is inspired by clean lines, a simple pulled-back style, and a textural, layered patina. Rough-hewn stones and natural wood tones are prominent throughout the living spaces of the home while earthy tones add the first layer of color. More hues are added as thoughtful details in the rugs, artwork, and decor. This exchange of color allows for a clean flow from room to room.

The kitchen was inspired by Modern French Country design sensibilities. This style is well known for its lived-in but polished aesthetic, which is something our clients wanted to incorporate into their home. While this is a brand new home, the bespoke style of Modern French Country brings a feeling of well-loved comfort.

The Primary Bedroom

Our clients wanted a primary bedroom that felt grand but not overwhelming. The end of the space is cozy and holds the bed and nightstands perfectly while the mirrors behind the lamps help to reflect light all over the room. They specifically asked for a seating area where their children could come in and chat.

The Children’s Bedrooms

The children’s rooms are completely inspired by their individual styles and preferences. Playful touches like pops of color and texture create lively spaces while traditional features help to create a look that the children can grow into.
The oldest daughter loves pinks and blues so we made sure to incorporate that into the accessories in her room. As she ages and her tastes change, it will be easy to change out features like throw pillows or art.

The two youngest girls will share this room. The mural on the wall is so sweet. The muted colors aren’t so juvenile that the girls will age out of the feature too soon. They even have their own play area where they can color and celebrate everything great about sisterhood.

The boy’s room is all about masculine colors and easy storage. The walls were painted with Anchor Gray by Benjamin Moore and we carried that gray-blue tone throughout the room with more similar tones. The pop of orange ands that perfect bright touch that any kid would love.

The Kids’ Laundry Room

A big "must-have" was a laundry room just for the kids. They want their children to be able to handle their own laundry without having to haul baskets up and down the stairs. Everything they might need is easily accessible on the lower shelves.

The Rec Room

The children have their own dedicated space for entertaining with plenty of seating for friends. Of course, this space isn't just for entertaining. There is also a dedicated homework area where they can study or work on school projects. The built-in shelves are perfect for young readers who are ready to build their library.

The Office

Another feature the family requested was a flexible home office that would be inviting to adults and children. The office features gorgeous millwork and plenty of space for working or doing homework. Office equipment is stored out of sight within the custom cabinetry.

The Basement Bar

There is no limit to where our client's can entertain. The basement is no exception. Shaker style cabinets playfully pop in Sea Pine by Benjamin Moore. A modern backsplash keeps the space transitional while warm-toned glass and kitchenware add natural touches.
We love working with our clients to create the home they’ve always dreamed of, but what does that really look like? To the team at Bodine White, that means dressing the beds with freshly washed linens and fluffy pillows, stocking the bathrooms, hanging family photos on the walls and styling the clients’ personal items on the shelves. When Bodine White hands the keys over, we are welcoming our client into a house that is ready to be a home.
